Background

Endeavor Content is an audio-first entertainment studio and podcast network, a division of Endeavor. By the time this project started, Endeavor Content had launched three podcasts on third-party apps such as Apple podcasts and received positive feedback. It was time to create a home for the content on the web.

Design Research

Before I started working, I conducted design research to learn from the masters. It helped me build an intuitive awareness of contemporary patterns and trends. I shared my research and key insights with the team and clients so that we could make some decisions together.

We started creating the website sitemap. Planning the sitemap prior to working on any website design has several benefits since we could build our design around the most important pages, plan the website navigation more efficiently, and get an overall idea of the content that still needed to be written.

After the content review, I moved forward to the design. Here are some sketches at the roughest fidelity to quickly brainstorm ideas and evaluate the pros and cons with engineers and designers. To validate those assumptions, I use Sketch for a much higher fidelity UI with existing system components and something totally new.

Iterations

Design for the Future - Encouraged by the positive feedback received for the podcasts, our clients set their sights on broadening their market presence by diversifying their content offerings, including journals. Advancing to the next phase, we developed additional prototypes that not only fulfilled the minimum viable product requirements but also incorporated engaging brand-focused elements.

Reflections

It was my first time designing a podcast website. I learned so much from the early design research I conducted. Taking on new challenges and learning how to tackle them step by step always excites me. Also, since this is a project with clients involved, communication plays such an important role. Through those weekly meetings, I feel more confident talking about my design, sharing details, and asking questions to understand the needs better.
